Funko's NFT Era Ends Sunday Night. Here's What Happens to Your Digital Pops.

Funko's NFT Era Ends Sunday Night. Here's What Happens to Your Digital Pops.

Funko is shutting down Droppp for good. Hard deadline: May 31, 2026, 11:59:59 PM PST.

At that exact second, accounts, wallets, USDC withdrawals, and the Droppp Discord all go dark. This is the formal end of Funko Digital Pop.

If you own anything on Droppp, do one thing today. Open any sealed packs before May 30, then transfer your Digital Pops to a non-Droppp WAX wallet. After Sunday night, packs can't be opened and the wallet you left things in gets disabled.

What You Keep and What You Lose

Start with the good news. Digital Pops are WAX-blockchain assets, and the shutdown does not destroy them.

Droppp is just the front-end and marketplace. The tokens live on-chain. Transfer them to an external WAX wallet before the deadline and they're still yours. Funko names AtomicHub as the destination.

Now the losses. Anything left in your Droppp wallet becomes inaccessible the moment your account is disabled. You can't open packs after shutdown. Anything sitting in the pre-mint wallet gets burned.

USDC has to be withdrawn by the deadline or it's gone. Droppp credits get refunded separately. Funko says it will contact affected holders by email on those.

The pattern is simple. On-chain assets survive if you move them. Everything tied to the platform itself dies with the platform.

The Physical Redemption Catch

Here's the part that made these worth owning, and the part most at risk.

Legendary, Grail, and Royalty Digital Pops came with a Redemption Token. One token per eligible Pop, exchangeable for a limited physical Funko Pop. Once deposited, a 30-day clock starts.

That physical hook was the whole pitch. A digital collectible backed by a real toy you could actually hold.

If you already placed a physical redemption order, you're fine. Funko confirmed outstanding orders will be fulfilled, including delayed international shipments.

The open question is whether you can start a new redemption after May 31 from an external WAX wallet. The redemption flow ran through Droppp.io. Funko confirmed existing orders ship. It has not confirmed you can initiate a fresh claim once the platform is gone.

So don't assume the right travels with the token. If you're holding an unredeemed Legendary, Grail, or Royalty Pop, redeem it now, while the platform is still up. The token may survive on-chain. The ability to cash it in for a physical Pop may not.

How We Got Here

Droppp launched around 2021 on the WAX blockchain. The drops leaned on licensed IP. Transformers. Star Trek. My Little Pony.

The original sell came from then-CEO Brian Mariotti. NFTs backed by redeemable physical Pops. Not pure speculation, but digital collectibles with a toy attached.

It ran about four years. The final collection, Disney Villains, concluded December 17, 2025. Five months later, the shutdown notice.

This closes the book on Funko's NFT experiment, and it lands right where the broader NFT collectibles bust left most of these projects. The hype cycle ended. The platforms followed.

Why It Matters

The timing tracks with Funko's recovery arc. New CEO Josh Simon is steering back toward core physical product, and Droppp doesn't fit that. We covered the financial picture in our Funko Q4 2025 earnings breakdown.

The irony is the sharp part. Funko built the one NFT pitch that was supposed to age well. Real toys behind the tokens. A reason to hold beyond the chart.

It still couldn't outlast the hype that launched it.

Move your Pops to AtomicHub. Pull your USDC. Redeem any Legendary, Grail, or Royalty token before Sunday night. After 11:59:59 PM PST on May 31, the platform is gone, and so is the easy answer to any of it.

Funko permanently shuts down Droppp and Digital Pop on May 31 at 11:59:59 PM PST. Your tokens survive on the WAX blockchain if you move them out first. The physical redemption right might not. Act now, don't assume.
